Jenny’s Core Wardrobe Dilemma

Valeria’s post about creating a core wardrobe reminded me that I’m supposed to be a fashion blogger, not a lump of yoga-pants-wearing laziness (ah, the perils of working from home). So here are my thoughts on the idea of a “core wardrobe.”

I know exactly what my core wardrobe is, and I think this helps because I’ve chosen things that look good on me and work with my lifestyle. HOWEVER, I basically wear nothing BUT the core. So I am completely bored with all of my clothes. This is my CORE WARDROBE for winter:

Jenny's Core Wardrobe
Bottoms: skinny jeans, heavy fabric leggings
Tops: tunics
Second layer: long cardigans and boyfriend blazers
Shoes: Boots or simple flats
Jewelry: Silver, modern, simple design
Colors: black, gray, cobalt, silver
…..
Boring clothes
So I wear my core wardrobe more or less, and I think it looks good on me, but wow, booooring. I never want to see any of those things again. Especially the colors. I can’t even stand looking in my closet anymore. I guess I have core wardrobe burnout? Is that even a thing? If it is, I definitely have it. Clearly I’m doing something wrong. And I have a feeling I’m about to find out what…
